DMX is available right now via the DMX patch that was released in 2011.  See the Download page for more information.  As long as you have v1.90 installed, you can use this patch right now.

Development for the next version of the program is ongoing, but only Michael can comment on when he expects a full scale release to occur.

Can someone give a status update on the new DMX Aurora? I have been converting my D-Light controllers to DMX and I am ready to check out this new Aurora. I have DMX Firefli, DMX ACx16's and I am working on the DMX ACx8. Now, I just need some good software and I really like Aurora. Thanks.

Guess I'll refer you to:

I'm sort of thinking that if we want to try using DMX at all, for the time being at least, we need to begin looking for alternatives.

Update: Have a E1.31 gateway and I'm going to wait for Aurora. ACx16's and Dcx16's converted to DMX.

Thumbs%20Up - I too am anxiously awaiting the DMX release. Have been focusing mainly on lower cost DMX items and have some now testing with the Lynx dongle and Vixen (LEs and some 3 dmx channel RGB pixels I've built). So far all testing with Vixen has been 100% positive. But I plan to remain faithful to Aurora and am anxious to test with Aurora and whatever USB/DMX device it will require.

There has been a lot of buzz (and misinformation) about DMX lately.  Here is the official Aurora position on DMX:

Aurora will support DMX by this July... guaranteed.

Myself and a number of beta testers actually used DMX in our shows in 2009.  The version we tested in our shows was very stable.  The reason it was not made public is because not all of the effects had been completed yet.

I can easily make a July guarantee because we already have most of DMX working.  Even in the absolute worst case scenario, what we ran in December will be available to the public in July.  Reality is far better than that though... full featured DMX (all effects) by July looks very likely.

Between July and November are 4 months to fix any bugs detected in July.

The Aurora focus for 2010 is twofold:
1. Making DMX happen
2. Bug fixes

I admit that we made mistakes last year regarding development focus and had our attention way too divided with the 2.x development that was taking place simultaneously.  Absolutely no 2.x development is taking place during 2010.
