I keep getting an overflow error when trying to run Aurora 1.1. I try to create a new file and name it test and open a .wma file. I choose to not download channels from another file and I get this:
Aurora encountered an unexpected error and will now reset.
Debugging Information:
6: Overflow
Main Processing Loop
AuroraAudio3
This doesn't happen when I open an .mp3 file and I haven't tried other file formats.
How do I fix this? I just bought this software today. I have Windows Vista Home Premium.

The general rule of thumb with all the sequencing software is to only WAV audio files. It really cuts down on a lot of issue you'll have with importing audio files.

WMA files are one of the biggest troublemakers due to the fact that the WMA extension is merely a "wrapper" for dozens of encoding methods - some of which are encoded so oddly, that only the priginal app can open it. MOV's are even worse, but thankfully we seldom have to mess with those!
WAV files, in contrast, are "standardized" to the point where any app can access them. If you must use a WMA at some point, I'd suggest "flipping" the WMA to a WAV using a program such as Power AMR. |

Thank you, thank you. That is it. I will not try to use .wma files any longer. I am looking forward to an awesome christmas display this year for my first time. If there are any sequences I can download whether for free or $$ let me know where I can get them.
Thanks again...

On the bottom half of my website home page there is a list of my 2008 songs I used. Click on that link and if you see any songs (sequences) you want to use, let me know and I'll shoot you the sequence. Just PM with the songs and your email address. I'll send you the sequence. I got most of my music from I-tunes. |

Feel free to visit my website where I have all my sequences available for download. You'll have to get the audio files elsewhere but the sequences are free for the taking.

LC,
Actually, WAV is actually a RIFF container which can contain compressed formats as well. Thankfully, it is very rare to see one of these "compressed WAV" files in the wild (hardly a piece of software out there knows what to do with them). Generally speaking 99%+ of the WAV files out there are uncompressed. That said, in a couple support cases I have seen "WAV" files which were really MP3 files in disguise. As to the original question: What version of Aurora is this? What is your upgrade history? |
