Are there any thoughts that Aurora will support Pixelnet in the future?

I hope it supports it - I'll be in for about 300 pixels.  :)

There is a DMX option....Same string, different controller. No pixel net.

What controller is that? I am planning on buying some Rgb pixels, but I want Aurora to be able to control them.

Tiger DMX TP3244.   Multi-protocol controller. Not only will it control that string, it will also control any 6803, 2801, or sd600 protocol pixel string.     With a single Dongle alone, it is 170 pixel of control over 4 possible outputs  (configurable)   Linked With a Joshua Systems Ethcon Gateway DR4, each of the 4 outputs become 170 pixel.  680 total.

Summer, they are releasing  the ETH328 which is a E1.31 based controller. 8 universe, 8 outputs. Same multi-protocol control.  All in one unit.

Here's the test video of the TP3244 and the string.

Do you know what the difference is between the protocols as they leave the computer?

My understanding of PixelNet is that it is DMX with up to 16k channels.  Value 170 is used as the frame start value.  Any channel value of 170 is aliased to 171 (or 169?).  If that's accurate, it doesn't sound like there'd be much of a code change needed to support PixelNet.  ??

E1.31 - I haven't read much about this.

E1.31 is  becoming the new standard for transporting DMX over IP, slowly replacing other protocols such as Artnet.

DC...I was in the Aussie chat last night and features for the TP3244 controller came up. Pixelnet support was one and your statement followed what they were thinking as well that there should not be much code needed to make it support it.

The coop for RJ's Pixelnet hubs and controllers is closing in 24 hrs.  If you want to get in, now is the time.  This one is humongous, so the prices are likely to be the best we'll see this year.  I knew there was a lot of buzz, but I had no idea the demand was this much.
