If you don't use Firefly or aren't having problems with it, stop here. Enjoy life.
If not, continue...
If you have Firefly controllers that exhibit these behaviors:
1) Controller "goes dead"
2) Controller will not discover in HWUtil
3) Controller may or may not accept a firmware flash on its ID
The following may be of help (this does NOT affect the stuck/flickery pixels issue):
1) Reflash the controller firmware (if the controller will take firmware at its ID this is easy, else you will need to power down, jumper J7, power up, wait a few seconds, remove J7 and then use the "force" option in the firmware updater).
2) Set the controller into the D0-DF range
3) Use this update to Aurora:
With this update you will find a "safe haven" option which can be checked under Playback Preferences. This option will alter the command structure of some commands in order to workaround some firmware issues by reserving the D0-DF parameters for use only with Firefly device IDs and channel masks. This will reduce the chances of a unit failure (at the expense of losing the 7% to 13% intensity values and a handful of ramp durations that will be rendered nearly inperceptibly longer).
The above update has not been beta tested. If you are desperate, use it at your own risk. Edited by LightsOnLogan - 01 Dec 2008 at 3:25pm |
