My primary use for Aurora will be for Christmas lights, but I was thinking about using it in my Halloween display too, but need to start a sequence on demand, based on some external trigger.
The trigger will either be a push button or PIR motion sensor.  I can hook it up to the parallel port and write some simple code to detect the event, but I need a way to then run an Aurora sequence from the command line.
I cannot seem to find a way to pass in a filename and get it to run.
  Any ideas?

Aurora doesn't have external triggers right now, but this is on the feature list for a future version.  I might be able to pull off a special command line player like you describe though to get y'all through this year (it should be rather easy actually)... after we get through the current issues that are keeping others from using the program we can consider this.

Something quick and only a little dirty for now.  And then something more glamorous later.  Hmmmm.  I could cannibalize a motion sensor and drive a short sequence...lights, sound, then pneumatics.
  Okay....back to browsing Ebay.

If there was any chance before mid October that would be great!  I am going to program up the sequence anyway - even if I need to trigger it by hand, or use some other utility to trigger the keypresses.

I expect you are quite busy with other fixes, but any chance you will be able to pull this off? I am trying to put together a vb script to send key presses to the sequencer, but a command line version would be much easier to use, and probably without the UI would run better/faster?
