          | For the life of me I cant get the Channel lineup to import into a new sequence.  I originally tried to import one from a d-light import and get a error.   So thinking it may be the import file, I recreated my 64....uhggg...channel lineup from scratch and saved it as  template. Opened a new sequence and when it asked to use a lineup, I clicked ok, picked  template and BAM...same error.   This happens at both home and work.
 Error I'm getting is:
Aurora encountered and unexpected erro and will now restart
 debug info
 6 overflow
 imported channels
 auroradata2

you can work around it by resaving your template as another name, open it an switch the music file, then resave again.

          | Rest assured, its being looked into. In the meantime, could you post the sequence so some others can take a look at it?
Better yet, just drive down here and deliver it.

          | I'll try and post the sequence I created today at work tommorow.  Something has to be fishy with things on my end maybe...I can imput the one that comes with  Aurora just fine, but when I try to imput the channels from mine into a new sequence, it crashes.

          | ok here's my template file.   If I open a new sequence and import it, it crashes when you click on draw
 http://www.lightsonsixth.com/sequences/template.dls - http://www.lightsonsixth.com/sequences/template.dls

This is a sequence that I imported the template channels, saved it. If I open it and click draw, it opens the Draw page and errors out.  If you move you house around the screen, it brings in the picture real choppy.

          | Size makes a difference,   sorry had too, but seriously I remember seeing some posts about the size of the pic however he didn't have the same errors you are. his was that the screen would flip upside down.    Slink

          | I just download your template and opened it in Aurora just fine, it did complain that it couldn't find the picture and defaulted to the default house pic. So somethings fishy on our side. I can see the drawing of the channels and can draw new lights on the channels, so no issues there (initially).   Note I tend to use a house pic of 800 x 600 and have never had a problem.   Well I could innitially then when I went into check something and went into drawing the lights, Aurora crashed  and quit. |

          | Pete and venesa     did you by chance figure anything out after that sequence crashed?
Something is goofy with the file.   I just imported a old 16 ch.  d-light sequence I have here at home, saved it as test 1

Opened a new sequence and imported test 1 lineup and it goes in clean. No errors in the Draw menu

My issue is that the template file I linked above, I created from scratch on aurora and its still goofy.

Only thing I can think of is the picture file is somehow affecting things.....I'll resize it to 600x800 because you said that works.

I'll try to reload my 64 ch D-light lineup on my work computer and see if I can open, save  and relink it to another new Aurora file.

I'm afraid I'm going to use my work around (of saving the file under another name, inserting the new music and then sequencing)  and I'm going to get to showtime and the file going to be goofy and not work.

Right now I'm I have like 2 minutes of very basic voice over sequence done so I can redo those easily.

          | Chris, I opened and edited both with no issues other than not having your original picture file, my guess is that there is something about your picture file it doesn't like.   Tony

          | I don't think it's the picture file at all since I have a different picture file and it's still goofy.   I really cant seem to find out the issue. |

          | I readjusted the picture file and still get the issue with that template.
I'm beginning to think it may have been the original d-light sequence.....but that still does not explain my completely Aurora template did the same thing.   I uploaded some d-light seq. I had at home last night and they worked fine when I saved them in Aurora and imported into new seq.

I'm going to build a new template in D-light and see if that works.

          | The picture may have been the cause.  The picture acted really goofy in the brightness adjuster, 100 was fine...if I dropped between 5-95, the picture changed all kind of colors from green to blues, then from like 5 and under it got dark.    Maybe that screwed up the some part of the sequence which was causing to to crash???     Since I resaved the picture, it acts normal all the way through the brightness adjust levels.  (It dims normally as you slide to the left)
Although now I reload that picture file into a new sequence and it doesn't do it...UHGGG

          | Let me make a $1 bet that this will come back and bite us. In the template I download it didn't have the pic that you have, therefore it loads the default picture which comes with Aurora. With the default picture I can get Aurora to crash when drawing the lights. So my bet is that there is still a bug lurking in the code somewhere. |

          | I'm about to run around the block screaming....
So I insert a completely different D-light sequence into the Aurora, draw all 64 channels on the house.     Half way through the drawing on channels, I save exit and insert into a new sequences.....worked fine.  Only thing I did after that was add 3 7 channel leaping arches which I deleted and redrew a couple times to get them to match and then went in and rearranged the channels and resaved...

Opened a new sequence and CRASH when I click on draw after it opens.

I will play around with a few things and see what happens

          | There, there, I told ya, there's somthin lurking in them there code     My guess (and purely a guess) is that something is wrong in the drawing code or channel code since that's where the crash occurs. |

          | Would help trouble shooting if you could tell us what Error Code it gives prior to crashing.

          | YES!!!!  I figured it OUT!!!! LEAPING ARCHES BUG    !!!!!!!!!!!

 Create new sequence
 create 6 channels
save as file (crash test) and close
open lineup into new sequence.....opens , click draw, no crash..close
 open crash test sequence again
 create 6 channel leaping arch
 save  and close
 open new file
 import crash test lineup
 click draw
 CRASHES every time

If you erase the Leaping arch and resave and reimport into a new file, it will open CLEAN.

Does this help qualify me for any future beta testing....

          | Very helpful... we should be able to look at this and work in a fix early next week.   Still could use the specific error code and message though... I'm going to guess here that one of the arc specific parameters are not being imported (e.g. arcstart, arcend, aspect, radius) and this is resulting in a math error during rendering.

 Thanks....
Ive always liked beta testing. I like figuring stuff out.  I've also done it for Microsurvey for the last 4 years/Releases.  They make the Land Surveying Data Collection Software we use at work.  Actually doing it for them right now.

In any case, at least I can fudge the leaping arches in and sequence this weekend and once its fixed, just adjust the template.
