    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="http://www.aurorashow.com/forum/member_profile.asp?PF=113" rel="nofollow">Jonathan</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> Frozen<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 29 Dec 2014 at 3:50pm<br /><br />Okay, I just had to share this with you all.&nbsp; Something interesting and rather unexpected&nbsp;happened during last night's show.&nbsp; The co-director of Frozen, Chris Buck, had heard from friends who lived in the area&nbsp;that I had the "Frozen house" and he actually stopped by to watch the show in person.&nbsp; He apparently liked the Frozen sequence because he made up a cool personalized autograph with a drawing of Olaf and the message, "To Jonathan - Thank you so much for celebrating 'Frozen' with your beautiful lights!&nbsp; Best - Chris Buck" for me.&nbsp; He even posed for a couple of pictures.&nbsp; He was super nice and down to earth.&nbsp; I'm glad he came to the door because he could have easily watched it and left without me ever knowing.&nbsp; Wow!&nbsp; That was amazing!&nbsp; ]]>

    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="http://www.aurorashow.com/forum/member_profile.asp?PF=1" rel="nofollow">LightsOnLogan</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> DIY MR16 Strobe<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 31 Oct 2014 at 3:19pm<br /><br />This year I found that I'm down to only 5 of my 20 "traditional" curtain strobes still working.&nbsp; The impact of only 5 strobes is a bit weak.&nbsp; I also happen to have a 7 year old box of 20 cool white Action MR-16 LEDs that have never been used.&nbsp; Time to whip up a basic 555 timer circuit to put them to good use...<br><br><img src="http://www.aurorashow.com/Images/strobe_prototype.jpg" height="461" width="500" border="0" /><br><br>The trim pot on the left sets the strobe rate (from 1.2 to 15 Hz) so as to "randomize" the string of strobes.&nbsp; I'll be putting them in some 1 1/2" PVC fittings.<br><br>This is certainly not a new or even complicated idea, but it was fun nonetheless.&nbsp; Sometime in the future I'll update this thread with the schematic and board layout (I'm a bit short on time at the moment).<br><br>Michael<br>]]>

It must of been quite a spark/zap cause it made a hole where part of the slug would have been.<br>I like winter displays for that. Bugs are not to be seen anywhere whereas in the October display, they are looking for a warm residency to occupy for the winter.<br>]]>

Tonight, while doing burnt LED maintenance, one of the LED's&nbsp; was deemed non-functional due a tiny maggot like worm. Somehow it had gone across the prongs and shorted out the light. These are the new "replaceable" lights which are nothing but garbage if you ask me. At least with the molded type, it was not prone to any worms or rain problems.<br><br>Now on top of that, I have a burnt output somehow. I'm thinking a coupler or triac. Will have to take the board apart this weekend. Sheesh.
